My earliest food memories are picking fruit and vegetables with my Nan and Bampy (Grandad) at their allotment which made me realise, early on, how important knowing where your food comes from is.

Health and vitality trends are key to creating a balance in my life, factoring in treat days. Indian, Mediterranean and Caribbean food, for me, create fantastic food experiences. I love going to local food markets and street-food outlets, to stay on trend and experience new exciting cuisines.

My favourite places to eat are the local gastro pubs and restaurants in my area, around Twickenham & Richmond. The key for me is tasty authentic food in a relaxed atmosphere. The ones I use most are the Bloomsbury, One One Four and the Rock and Rose.

My most memorable meal is my husband’s jerk chicken, with “rice n peas”. My ideal dinner guests would be my parents and Marks mum (who are sadly no longer with us) my best friends from Wales spiced up with Micky Flannigan, Dawn French, Bob Marley & Martin Luther King-Eclectic I know but imagine the fun but thought provoking conversations…..

With cookbooks, I find inspiration in anything written by Nigella Lawson,  or the Hairy Bikers. My most recent buy is Dishoom -From Bombay with love

Three items I always keep in my fridge are wine, fresh vegetables & salad, salmon and butter.
