If any of you are huge Wagamama fans (like me!) then you’ll be delighted to hear about their latest innovation.
iphone users with a taste for their pan-asian flavours can now order their favourite food on the move from today (that'd be the 1st of March) thanks to the launch of the restaurant chain’s new iphone application. As far as I am aware the company is the first restaurant chain in the UK to launch its own iphone application, which is free to download from the itunes application store.
Wagamama is known for using new technology, and the innovative app is the same as their super-fast ordering system you see when dining in their restaurants. hungry iphone users can use the app to locate their nearest branch of wagamama and browse the menu to place their order, their selection is then transmitted straight through to the kitchen, in a similar way to the wireless hand-held devices used by wagamama restaurant staff.
The app also lets users choose a convenient pick-up time if they do not want to dine immediately, and payment can be made securely with a debit or credit card
Wagamama’s menu is reflected by the app, automatically refreshing with new dishes and specials as soon as they are added to download the wagamama app, anyone with iphone can go to the itunes app store and search for ‘wagamama’
I’m quite excited launch of the iphone app because there is the chance for me (and you to I suppose) to win a wagamama chef preparing a three-course pan-asian meal for me at home.
I’m sure it wont be long before we’re using these same applications in our corner of the catering world (we're already well on our way at bartlett mitchell, with Twitter featuring in some of our larger restaurants!)
