Grow your own pledge

We've just heard of a great initiative from the Royal Horticultural Society that ties in really well with some of our more green fingered units (and helps us tick that "Environmentally Aware" box). It's the RHS "Make you pledge to grow fruit and veg"!

We've just published this information for catering managers on i2i, bartlett mitchell's company intranet, for all catering managers to consider adn for thise with existing 'gardens' to register. At head office (despite our 2nd floor position and windowledge-less nature) we are aiming for herbs and possibly some lettuce. If you're already doing it, let them know, and if you aren't even herbs can count! Watch this space to see how it goes!

And what's even better is there's inspiration from some great chefs on what to do with you home-grown produce from Nigel Slater and slow-food (and Aga) guru Mary Berry: http://www.rhs.org.uk/Gardening/Grow-Your-Own/Eating-and-cooking. Inspiration for team members at bartlett mitchell and inspiration for us all at home too!
