Working towards "Eggsellence"
Tuesday, 25 August 2009 12:08

bartlett mitchell units only buy free range eggs; we are "working to inspire a free range future"!

To support our claim we have just been awarded with the Silver Eggsellence Award from the Battery Hen Welfare Trust. This award would demonstrate that all shell eggs used on our premises have been laid by British free range hens.

We would love to be able to apply for the Gold Certificate but egg products are well hidden in a lot of what we eat ... did you know that 65% of all battery hen eggs are used by food manufacturers i.e. pasta, pastry etc, however some some of our individual units will be working towards this Gold Certificate later this year.
