My earliest food memory is visiting my great granny and eating meringue dipped in chocolate.

The food trend I am really enjoying at the moment is vegetables. Being a meat eater I never imagined I would say this. I have just come back from a holiday to Copenhagen and I mostly ate vegetarian food. A couple of the dishes really stood out for me. Relae, is onion cooked in pine – it’s absolutely delicious. I came across a mushroom dish which I thought was tagliatelle, but it was actually a large mushroom cut to look that way, it was very clever. I also came across a lot of black garlic which I haven’t really experienced before, but since then I have noticed it has become a lot more prevalent in cooking here.

I have lots of favourite places to eat and there are too many to choose just one. These are my top recommendations; South Lodge in West Sussex, any restaurant by chef, Michael Wignall and the Blue Ribbon Las Vegas. The Bromberg Brothers and partner Toshi Ueki brought the Blue Ribbon to the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. They serve exquisite sushi and sashimi, as well as Japanese inspired beef marrow bones, fried chicken with wasabi honey, bone-in rib steak and miso lobster.

My most memorable meal was at The French Laundry because at the time it was the number one restaurant in the world, and somewhere I had always wanted to try. Much to my delight it lived up to the billing.

My ideal dinner guest would be Sir Alex Ferguson; and he can bring the wine.  I am not a Manchester United fan, but the man is a legend.

I choose a cook book to match my mood. The one I keep returning is Sat Baines’ Too Many Chiefs Only One Indian, it’s a few years old now but I still love it. Also, Low and Slow by Neil Rankin is a great BBQ book. The way he treats meat is just brilliant.

The three things I always have in my fridge are duck eggs, chorizo and parmesan. All three combined on toast is my favourite thing to eat for Sunday brunch.
