World Mental Health Day is recognised on Sunday 10th October to raise mental health awareness and cut down the stigma attached.

Many have suffered before, but especially during the global COVID-19 pandemic due to a variety of reasons.

Mental Health Foundation say “Mental health problems range from the worries we all experience as part of everyday life to serious long-term conditions. The majority of people who experience mental health problems can get over them or learn to live with them, especially if they get help early on.”

Mental Health Foundation also have a variety of tips on how to look after your mental health during the coronavirus outbreak – from going back to the workplace to top tips from key workers.

Support You Can Trust

We have set up a number of initiatives to support our team members’ mental wellbeing and as part of our continued commitment to support our #bmFamily💜💚, our bartlett mitchell leadership team will be posting on Yapster, our internal employee engagement app, every day from Sunday – just how they stay positive during challenging times.

Some of the common themes being spoken about by our leadership team is being there for each other and ensuring that we never feel alone. There’s always someone to talk to (#bmFamily💜💚, friend, family or external helplines, like Samaritans) as we should never feel isolated.

Equally the importance of having a balanced diet – balance between the healthy and naughty treats, a great night’s sleep – important for allowing your body and mind to rest and exercise – whether it be running, cycling or walking.

We share this with you on World Mental Health Day to encourage you to know that mental health should be a widely spoken topic of conversation and there is always someone there for you!

I encourage you to reach out to someone to remind them that you’re there for them and offer support. Keep well, stay safe and above all be kind.
